FCAC Social Services Team members assigned to a case provide extra support by:

  • Guiding the client and holding their hand throughout the case

  • Being a liaison with the FCAC attorney 

  • Providing non-legal support and out of court advocacy 

  • Helping the client locate and access community resources and services

  • Identifying family members and friends who can support the client

  • Helping a parent navigate the family plan of service 

  • Independently investigating proposed placements and conducting safety assessments 

  • Identifying appropriate providers and evaluators

  • Observing family visits

  • Assisting clients or family members with navigating applications or forms

  • Providing relapse support

  • Helping with crisis intervention

  • Acting as a client’s a mentor, cheerleader, and advisor
